Sterntaler Products: Quality as top priority!
Long before lead containing toys hit the headlines, Sterntaler had already tackled the subject of quality assurance. “We always cared about where, how and with what kind of material Sterntaler products are being produced. That’s why we never considered the CE-certificate as being sufficient“, says managing director Thomas Koch underlining his company’s consistent approach. For the last 15 years, Sterntaler had their toys examined on a voluntary basis by the German technical inspection agency TÜV. Furthermore, each season all fabrics used for the production are being examined according to the Öko(eco)-Tex-Standard. It almost goes without saying that Sterntaler fully complies in three of its toy production places with the ICTI-Standard. However, that’s still not enough: Sterntaler have committed themselves to work on the continuous improvement of the present quality standards. Sterntaler is already far ahead of the demand made by the German Federal Minister of Economics Michael Glos for a “compulsory examination” on all imported toys. A good proof for the quality of our goods are among others the repeated awards granted by Öko-Test. In Mai 06 it was hand puppet Punch and in December 04 doll Magdalena that became the top-listed winners.
