Sterntaler sleeping bag concept

The new sleeping bag concept offers many new great functions as well as practical intermediate and newborn sizes. Here you will find all the innovations at a glance!

The Sterntaler Sleeping Bags have been a permanent part of our range since the late 1990s, ensuring an optimum feeling of comfort for our little ones night after night. When the EU standards for baby and children’s sleeping bags were revised, we made it our mission to redesign and optimize the entire Sleeping Bag Concept . This enabled us to integrate numerous innovative features.

All the new highlights at a glance:

Maximum comfort thanks to tried-and-tested cuts: The design has been further optimized to provide even greater safety. In addition, the neck openings have been adjusted to prevent the child from slipping inside the Sleeping Bag. All Sterntaler Sleeping Bags are made from soft fabrics such as muslin, cotton jersey, or a cotton blend.

Intermediate and Newborn Sizes:
The sizing concept for Sterntaler Sleeping Bags has also been significantly expanded. The inner sleeping bag and baby sleeping bag are now available in size 44 cm, making them available for premature babies as well. The popular sleeping bag sizes 80 cm and 100 cm are now a permanent part of the range.

Two-way zipper:
The practical two-way zipper allows parents to open the Sleeping Bag from the top or bottom, making diaper changes and dressing easier. The end of the zipper is covered by a protective fabric flap.

Integrated cuffs:
The new, integrated cuffs in our long-sleeved Sleeping Bags keep little hands warm and protect against scratching at night. This innovation was especially important to us so we could offer children with sensitive skin the right Sleeping Bag.

“HYDROCOOL®” technology: An outstanding feature is the “Hydrocool®” technology, which ensures a consistently comfortable and dry feeling, supports moisture transport and the child’s natural thermoregulation. This is especially important to ensure that babies do not sweat or overheat in their Sleeping Bag, but feel completely comfortable.

All Sterntaler Sleeping Bags meet the applicable safety requirements and have been tested in accordance with the European standard and its testing procedures for children's sleeping bags (DIN EN 16781).

The meaning of the TOG value

The TOG rating continues to play an important role in the new Sleeping Bags. TOG is the unit of measurement for the thermal resistance of textiles. The higher the rating, the warmer the Sleeping Bag. The TOG rating and room temperature should be adapted to the child’s perception of warmth and should not be based solely on the season.

The best way to check whether the child is cold or sweating is at the nape of the neck. Accordingly, lighter or warmer Clothing Line should be chosen to wear under the Sleeping Bag. If the child is wearing an inner and outer Sleeping Bag, the two TOG ratings must be added together to obtain the final rating.

Overall, the new Sterntaler Sleeping Bags are the ideal solution for helping your little one sleep safely and comfortably—and for giving you, as parents, peace of mind.
