To ensure warm and safe baby sleep, our sleeping bag concept meets the safety standards of the European Standard DIN EN 16781 for textile articles for infants and toddlers. We developed the concept in collaboration with the sleeping bag expert and family nurse Tina Rapp.

The warm Sterntaler sleeping bags are available from size 50/56 cm, so even small newborns can sleep in them. Your child can even dream in our sleeping bags up to the 6th year of life (size 110). To ensure your little treasure grows out of the sleeping bag and not into it, we also offer intermediate sizes 80 and 100 cm in our range.

Our small baby sleeping bag with 3.0 TOG is not only cozy warm but also features a double button system, allowing it to grow with your child over two sizes – 50/56 cm and 62/68 cm.
Our tip: If you feel your baby’s neck is still cold, you should definitely not use an additional thick blanket but simply combine the sleeping bag with the light Sterntaler inner sleeping bag (with sleeves).
✓ Practical cable opening
If your child needs medical care, medical cables can be routed through a small side opening in the sleeping bag.

Our sleeping bags for cooler days and nights (2.0 and 3.0 TOG) have sleeves that you can attach or remove as needed using a Velcro fastener. Additionally, the sleeping bags (with 2.0 TOG) have integrated hand cuffs at the sleeve ends, so your baby not only has warm hands on chilly nights but is also protected from scratches.
✓ Perfect sleeping climate
The HYDROCOOL® microfiber lining provides cooling at warm temperatures and keeps warm at cool temperatures. Thanks to the temperature-regulating properties of the padding, the sleeping bag with this filling can be optimally used for summer and winter.
✓ Comfortable 2-way zipper
Wild kicking legs and hectic diaper changes? Not with our practical 2-way zipper, which can be closed in both directions for changing and dressing! The zipper end is additionally equipped with a padded flap for effective chin protection.

Which Baby Sleeping Bag for Winter or Autumn: What Should I Consider?
● Right sleeping bag size
For a baby sleeping bag in colder temperatures, you should first pay attention to the size. The rule is always: Your child should grow out of it, not into it!

● Material for the ideal sleeping climate
The next important criterion, especially for warm, padded sleeping bags, concerns the material and fabric. For a pleasant skin feel, cotton is especially suitable. In our Sterntaler® online shop, we mainly offer baby sleeping bags made of cotton with soft padding, which are also suitable for washing machines and dryers.
● TOG value for the optimal sleeping temperature
Along with the material, the TOG value of the sleeping bag is important. It indicates the thermal resistance or how warm a sleeping bag is. In our Sterntaler range, sleeping bags for all seasons are available with values from 0.5–3.5 TOG.
While the warm sleeping bags for cooler temperatures in our range have TOG values of 2–3.5 TOG, our lighter sleeping bags for spring and summer have TOG values of 0.5–1.5 TOG.
